Tooth Number Three!

Truman had difficulty sleeping last night and was very congested. At about 5:30am, and having gone into Truman's room a number of times to help him get back to sleep I decided to bring him into our bed. Luckily, he and I slept for a few hours. I was just hoping the he was not coming down with anything, but it was apparent that he really needed to be comforted. I then remembered when Truman's last teeth came in how we thought he had come down with a cold but he was actually teething. Well, this afternoon I saw another little white bud poking through. Funny though, he is getting another tooth on the bottom and not top! How cute are his three little teeth going to look???

My father and I took turns carrying Truman around, as he would not be happy any other way. Even when he was trying to go down for a nap this afternoon I had to rock him to sleep which I have not had to do for a long time! I can't really complain though, he has been relatively happy considering he's teething,

Truman is really enjoying his rice cereal, and yesterday we tried oatmeal for the first time which he devoured! We will be waiting until we get back from vacation until we start fruits and veggies - but I can't wait to try! I hope he likes them! Only three more days until we leave for our trip, sunshine here we come!

Good Friends and Fun!

Truman had a very fun and busy weekend. Friday night we went to Baba's for a delicious dinner. We put Truman in his travelling highchair and he fussed and fussed, when we tried to take him out the tray was stuck which panicked all of us. We eventually got him out but have since returned the chair.

Saturday we ran a whole bunch of errands - we went to Toys R Us, exchanged our car seat, and visited the library for Jerry. We then went to the Sullivan's and had dinner with them, the Thornton's and Walshy. Olivia and Truman spent some time "playing" with one another and Christine gave me a wonderful hug! Unfortunately, Truman's witching hour came abruptly and we had to leave in such a rush I wasn't even able to finish my dessert. Believe me, you don't want to miss out on anything Stephanie makes! Our little boy knows when he wants to go to sleep...I guess we can't complain!

On Sunday we had Wawa and David over for breakfast. Wawa fed Truman his rice cereal, he loved it so much he wanted seconds. Then Wawa and David took Morrie and Truman out for a long walk while Jerry and I cleaned the house from top to bottom. In the afternoon, Truman, Jerry and I went to Ryan, Rebecca and Jake's house for a lovely "pasta bar" dinner. We were joined by Bronna, Jeff and Macayla. It was so cute watching the children "interact". Jerry tried to give Truman his first sip of Coke, luckily I stopped them in time! :)

Yum Yum!

Yum! Food is delicious! This morning Jerry and I fed Truman his first solid food today. Well, if you can call what we gave him solid...the rice cereal was the consistency of thick milk. Nonetheless, Truman LOVED it! He is definitely a Topolski-Braun!!! Truman is so much happier today, so now I feel like I have been starving my child unnecessarily. He just wanted more food and this was probably the reason he has been a little cranky over the last few days. Feeding him will make our trip a little bit more challenging, but at least we will have a happy baby on our hands.

Truman had a lot of fun eating today but it was really messy. I see a lot more loads of laundry in our future! I just thought the look on Truman's face was priceless. He completely grabbed the spoon and shoved it in his mouth and just wanted more! ADORABLE!!!

Sweet Kisses

Last night Truman, Jerry and I went out for dinner to celebrate Valentine's Day. One of my dates however, slept through the entire meal. Truman made up for it though when we got home as he was full of energy and was enjoying playing with the whole family. Over the past few weeks Truman has started to show some emotional behaviours by giving us hugs and open mouth kisses (although he may also just be trying to latch onto the occasional cheek here and there).

Truman had a little bit of a rough day yesterday. He constantly wanted to be held and the second I put him down he began to fuss. He also took a lot of naps (more than usual). I am wondering if he is teething again or if he is hungry. I am so worried that we should have started feeding him solids but the timing is not right with our upcoming trip to the Dominican Republic. I am sure he is just fine, but it is a parents job to worry!

Happy Valentine's Day

Truman and I woke up to a winter wonderland this morning. So, after showing Truman the snow from inside the house, it was time to show him the real thing! I dressed Truman in some warm clothes and then his snowsuit and hat and brought him outside for a little photo shoot. Well, Truman fell asleep instantly! I guess the combination of the cold air and being comfortable in his snowsuit was the perfect condition for an early afternoon nap! Maybe we'll try again later! Too cute! Truman and I don't have any plans today as we don't really want to drive anywhere and leave the house. It is also too cold to take Truman on a walk. So we are stuck inside and trying to find ways to keep ourselves amused! I am dying for a coffee so we may have to go to Starbucks later this afternoon...

Yesterday afternoon Jerry, Truman and I went to the public library to get Truman a library card. He didn't really find any books that he was interested in taking out just yet. But we did stay and read a few books while we were there.

I hope everyone enjoys their Valentine's Day!!

Buffalo Soldier

What's new with Truman? He's been quite the busy boy over the past week or so that I have not updated his blog (bad mommy). Developmentally, he has discovered his feet, loves to put EVERYTHING in his mouth, is sitting on his own momentarily (seconds really), and loves to giggle and squeal when I do something funny. This evening I was making popping noises with my mouth and he was giggling and screaming so much, which in turn made me giggle and laugh back at him. He has truly been quite delightful! Jerry was sure Truman said "ma" and I think I heard him say "ba"....maybe his first word will be ba-ha-ma!

Tina, Misty, Truman and I went to Buffalo for some shopping this weekend. Poor Truman just wanted out of his car seat so badly on our way there he was crying so much and for so long I felt horrible for him. As soon as we reached our destination and I had him in my arms all crying ceased and he was a happy boy. He didn't sleep much during the day, which made it very difficult for him to fall asleep that evening at the hotel. Shopping however, was very successful and Truman has a whole new spring/summer wardrobe! I even bought myself two pairs of shoes!
Other than that, Truman enjoyed the art gallery, maybe because the photographs were black and white or that there were lots of people around that he could talk to? Poor Truman, everyone thought he was a little girl because I put him in a pink button down....silly mommy! But it was Ralph Lauren!

Happy Guy!

Truman has been such a happy fella lately! His smile constantly melts my heart! Truman has "rediscovered" his voice, in that he loves to squeal in delight (especially when Morrie enters the room) and he is modulating his voice even more....it is so adorable! I am really starting to get sad that our time together will soon be ending. I am enjoying my time with him so much!

Truman and I went to visit Misty last night and a very delicious dinner...yum! Truman was on his best behaviour but got a little tired at the end of the night. He cried most of the way home, which panicked me. I can't even count the number of times I had to pop his soother back in his mouth! He just wants to be in his crib to sleep now (even for naps!). So I have to start watching the signs to make sure we make it home on time! Truman loves to move around in his crib but he wakes himself up when he reaches the end of the crib and can't move any further! Poor guy! He often wakes up with red circles on is knees from all the movement!

This afternoon Truman and I are going to the AGO to see the Ansel Adams exhibit. It should be a nice afternoon! We then are hopefully meeting Jerry for either lunch or coffee. Tonight we are going to Wawa and David's house for dinner. Should be a nice weekend!
