First Snowfall

Truman discovered snow for the first time as a curious toddler on Thursday. It was still snowing when I picked him up from daycare and when I brought him outside, he looked into the sky and said "Wow! Bubbles!". I explained to Truman, that in fact, it was snow and not bubbles, but he quickly disagreed with me and told me that it was bubbles. Bubbles, is his favourite word, well, it was until this weekend when uh-oh became his most favourite expression. Nonetheless, Truman was fascinated by these white flakes, that to him resemble bubbles.

Thursday was also aunt Misty's birthday - Happy Birthday Misty! Truman, Tina and I had a nice time celebrating together. I can't tell you how delicious the cake was! YUM!
On Saturday, I took Truman outside so that he could actually play in the snow. Truman decided to touch the snow, but I don't think he liked how cold it was on his fingers, but he was still quite curious about it. Saturday late afternoon, we headed to the Starkman's and had a play-date with both Jake and Macayla. Jake and Truman had a great time chasing one another up and down the hallway. It is neat to see the two of them actually interact. Macayla was a sweetheart and it was so nice to see her again, I can't believe it had almost been three months!

This morning we took Truman for bagels and cream cheese (his fav), went for a nice long walk with Morrie and then went to visit Grandma, David, Baba and some of their friends for dinner. It was such a beautiful day and such a relaxing weekend.

Truman's First Haircut

Today we took Truman for his first haircut. Some may say it was long over do, but to be honest Jerry and I loved his unruly curls and long hair. We arrived at the Terminal Barber Shop at about nine this morning. I was the only female in this place, which definitely had a masculine tone. I think that some of the patrons were very uncomfortable with my presence! If you look at the link, this place is called "Boys Club on Bay Street". This was the only place that Jerry wanted Truman to get his hair cut. Besides the barber previously cut the king of Saudi Arabia's hair! Nothing is too good for our little boy! We placed him on the seat and waited to see what would happen. Lately he loves to sit "like a big boy", so he stayed put (with Jerry's help of course). I thought for sure he would get upset, but he was truly having too much fun!

Now, after this hair cut, I doubt anyone will be mistaking him for a girl anytime soon. I think I had a little tear when the first lock of his hair was cut. Surprisingly, I didn't even keep a piece! So, here is a pic of our clean cut chap!

A Fun Family Weekend

What a great weekend! Friday night Jerry came home early from work and we had a lovely evening together as a family. Saturday morning we woke up and went to for bagels with Grace, Emily and Mark. Grace could not wait to get out of her high chair so she could run around! What a sweetheart! We then took Truman to music class, this week for some reason he decided to be very well behaved and sat in our laps as opposed to running around the room. Later that afternoon we spent some time outdoors cleaning up the backyard and then headed over to the Starkman's for a play date. This was the first time I think that Truman and Jake actually "played" together. They chased each other through the tunnels and "talked" (or rather screamed) with one another. It was adorable! Here's a picture of them trying to get through the gate....Jake was desperate to get to his daddy. So sweet! We're looking forward to many more play dates in the future!
Today, Truman and I met Tina for lunch and we actually ate al fresco despite the cooler weather. The sunshine was just too nice and we decided to make the most of the decent weather. We then took a nice long walk and then played in the park. Truman could not get enough of going down the slide and finally liked going in the swing. Both Tina and I were pooped. The most difficult thing about today was the time change. Truman was over-tired when we finally put him to bed. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he sleeps until 7am and doesn't wake up at 6am!

Earlier this week, Jerry and I had our first parent-teacher meeting at Truman's day care. I think Jerry laughed his way through most of the meeting, but it was nice to hear what they had to say about our little one. I don't think they told us anything that we were not already aware of: Truman is an active child (yep), he likes rearranging the furniture (just like at home), he is very affectionate (love those sloppy kisses), has a good appetite (you betcha), is a happy boy (does he ever not have a smile on his face?), he likes to do what other kids are doing (uh oh, we may have a follower on our hands) and loves to be involved in activities, especially the outdoors. I think Jerry and I giggled the most about Truman's "objectives"....he's only one!
